News 25/10/2008
Hello World,
On the home front some significant progresses can be recorded. The tail of the de Caters was moved this Saturday to the exhibition place where the aircraft will be assembled. Luc is still working hard to prepare the next Museum evening. New Hardware was delivered for the very active Historical team. The educational display of the team of André Fillée will be ready at the end of 2008. See more in the pictures section.
A Few weeks ago two important exhibitions were organised in Paris : The 100 th anniversary of the French aeronautical industry and an exhibition about "Jacques Brel : an airman". Videos and links are available about this event are available hereafter
Erik Mombeek is a Belgian born world class expert writer about the Luftwaffe, discover his last books and much more at his website.
Found on Youtube 2 Videos of the Museum permitting to virtually visit the Museum and maybe to stress you to have a "Live" visit.
The wings of our B-25 have been stripped at New ICC. The process permitted to remove the old paint coats accumulated during the service life of this aircraft without damaging the equipments still in place. To have an idea of the time spared, to perform the same process manually on the sole bomb bay of the A-26 took an estimate of one year of work for 3 volunteers.
Now the team is working on the front fuselage to prepare this element for the same process as the wings. Do not forget there is still room for new volunteers to join the pack. Do not hesitate to contact us.
A few months ago, Jean-Marc visited the Solent Sky, the air Museum in Southampton. A good occasion to discover how other Museums display their artifacts. see more in the pictures section. Have a busy week & many happy landings
